Mission Statement
Our mission is to help all Eastern University students see
God’s hand in creating and upholding life. Recruitment and
retention of a diverse student population is an important aspect
of our calling. We acknowledge biokinetics, the study of human
movement, exercise, and sport, as a valid and important academic
pursuit; a preparation for careers in the allied health and
fitness profession. We recognize exercise to be therapy,
occupational work, sports and recreation. It is an
appropriately healthy way to personally care for the temple of
the Holy Spirit. It is the primary therapeutic and preventative
tool for many diseases and injuries. Our deliberate promotion
of healthy lifestyles, including regular physical activity,
endorses a physical robustness that honors God. The breadth and
depth of our traditional liberal arts curriculum prepares our
students to embrace and nourish the life of the mind. Our goal,
therefore, is to prepare the whole to serve God through the
biokinetic sciences.
