M27: Called the Dumbbell Nebula for obvious reasons, this object is a cloud surrounding a hot white star in the center. The star was once a massive red supergiant that grew old and released its outer atmosphere. The shell now surrounds the remaining core, a white dwarf, which is incredibly dense.
