These images were taken the first night that we tested the WideField 0.5X telecompressor from Optec, Inc. Using this lens with our SBIG ST-8E CCD camera, we obtained about two times the field of view obtainable by the camera alone. Each of these images is the product of image 'stacking' and enhancements done with MaxIm DL imaging software. Note: obvious vignetting the result of not flat fielding images. This mosaic of the sun was created using a color CCD video camera coupled with an f/3.3 telecompressor and piped to a video capture card.
