Public Nights

Public Observing Sessions are a wonderful opportunity for folks from the community to enjoy the Observatory as an invaluable educational resource.

This season of public observing nights are OPEN for the fall/spring (2007/2008) semester!

Using our 16 inch Meade telescope(s) you will not only get a chance look at celestial objects but take pictures of them as well. Our digital camera allows us to capture beautiful snapshots of objects our eyes can barely see. Once the night is over the pictures will then be e-mailed to you. The nights usually start around 6:30 or 7:00 P.M. and run about an hour and a half.

During our public sessions the Observatory is generally open to the public on Tuesday nights (weather permitting) by reservation only. There is no charge for these sessions. Max of fifteen people. Call (610)-341-1390 or e-mail Steve Sanders at ssander2@eastern.edu. E-mail will give a quicker response.

Thank you for your desire to join us as we observe the universe and we hope to see you soon.
